Feel free to contact us for more details if you’re wanting to come along!

EVENTS

at Nairn Books

past, present & future!

Illustration of a corner bookstore named Nairn Books with arched windows and decorative exterior, featuring a glimpse of interior shelves and books.
Book covers of Margaret Kirk's crime novels. From left to right: 'Shadow Man,' 'What Lies Buried,' and 'In the Blood,' each featuring dark, moody imagery with silhouettes and dramatic skies.

MARGARET KIRK, author of Highlands crime trilogy The Shadow Man, What Lies Buried, and In The Blood, will be at Nairn Books 6pm Thursday 28th November.

Margaret will be talking about what inspired her to write, taking questions, signing books, and - excitingly! - reading an excerpt from the next book in the series and telling us about her new project!

This is a free event, but do book your place (in person or via email/phone).

Cover of 'Our Hideous Progeny' by C.E. McGill featuring ornate botanical designs with skulls, leaves, and insects. The text includes a subtitle noting it as a revisiting of Frankenstein, and reviews praising it as gothic and multi-layered.

For the 2024 Nairn Book & Arts Festival, Nairn Bookshop sponsored debut author CE McGill, whose fantastic novel Our Hideous Progeny is set mostly in and around the Moray Firth, and is historical fiction centred upon the imagined great-niece of Victor Frankenstein… it’s a beautifully written, super-engaging story, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!
